Zero Waste Barter Trade
The Zero Waste Barter Trade is a 2-hours programme during ‘Fuyoh’ events allowing the communities to exchange pre-loved goods. This platform allows the public to practice 5R—Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repurpose and Recycle—in our daily lives. It is a small but purposely initiatives to reduce waste being sent to Penang’s one and only landfill while promoting zero waste economy.
Objectives
To instil in the participants in the 5R practices in their daily lives
To create public awareness about zero waste practices and appreciate the values of unused and pre-loved items
To reduce waste being sent to Pulau Burung, Penang’s only landfill while promoting zero waste economy
