Senior Officer for Think Tank & Project Development Division
The Role
The role will support engagement with industry players, government entities and other important stakeholders to identify opportunities, co-create strategies and deliver initiatives to support Penang’s transition towards a green manufacturing hub. This will include working with local, national and international partners in carrying out outreach and capacity building, increasing the visibility of sustainability and PGC among industry players, and engaging in pilot projects on the ground.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead PGC’s research, stakeholder engagement, advocacy and communication work on accelerating Penang’s green industry transition, under the direction of PGC’s Project Manager and General Manager.
• Produce internal and external reports and communication materials on Penang’sgreen industry transition, including sustainability reports for individual companies as and when required.
Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years’ relevant professional experience and track record in a relevant setting e.g. business sustainability policy, research or practitioner in industry, government, civil society, think tank or research institute.
• Degree in relevant discipline (e.g. environmental management, environmental law and policy, business management, environmental science)
• Excellent strategic understanding of international and Malaysia’s sustainable industry policy and their implementation at company level.
• Highly developed interpersonal skills and able to work effectively as part of the wider PGC team.
• Excellent English and Malay, spoken and written.
